Festival Artist 2020 - Nathalie Aall
Nathalie spent her childhood digging in the dirt for worms and jumping at any chance she had to observe wild animals going about their business. After gaining her B.A. and M.S. in Biology, Nathlie was fortunate enough to be able to travel to remote Rainforests to survey and observe unbelievably beautiful wildlife. Knowing that she couldn't give these complex and unique creatures justice with a simple photograph, she delved into the art of scientific illustration and obtained my graduate certificate in Natural Science Illustration from the University of Washington in 2016.
Her biological research inspired her to create works that can help increase public awareness of often overlooked animals and encourage sustainability and conservation efforts in viewers both young and old. To Nathalie, the meshing of biology and art is essential in communicating the beauty and importance of the natural world.
